Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Changsha

Morning: Arrive in Changsha, check-in at the hotel, and relax after your flight.
Afternoon: Visit Yuelu Academy to soak in the ancient history of one of China’s oldest academies. Wander the peaceful grounds and explore the nearby Yuelu Mountain.
Evening: Take a stroll along Orange Isle, offering panoramic views of the Xiangjiang River and Changsha’s skyline.
Dinner: Try local delicacies like stinky tofu and spicy crayfish at a popular street food stall near the Wuyi Square.

Day 2: Changsha Cultural Exploration

Morning: Visit the Hunan Provincial Museum to see artifacts from the Mawangdui Han Tombs and learn about Hunan’s history and culture.
Lunch: Try a Hunan hotpot or rice noodles at a local restaurant for a spicy, flavorful lunch.
Afternoon: Head to Tianxin Pavilion for a glimpse of Changsha’s old town. Enjoy views of the city and the Xiangjiang River.

Day 3: Travel to Zhangjiajie

Evening: Visit the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon for a peaceful evening walk. If time permits, catch a glimpse of the Glass Bridge from a distance.

Day 4: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Morning: Head to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, home of the “Avatar Hallelujah Mountains.” Take the cable car up to Tianzi Mountain and enjoy stunning views of the forest’s towering sandstone peaks.
Afternoon: Explore the park’s Yellow Stone Village, which offers the best views of the famous spires. Walk along the Bailong Elevator—the world’s highest glass bridge elevator—up to the peaks for panoramic views.

Day 5: Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon & Glass Bridge

Morning: Visit the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and walk across the famous Glass Bridge, the longest and highest glass bridge in the world. The views from the bridge are jaw-dropping.
Afternoon: Explore the canyon area further, and enjoy a scenic boat ride through the peaceful waters of the canyon.
Evening: Enjoy a relaxing dinner in Zhangjiajie and free time to explore the local town.

Day 6: Tianmen Mountain & Heaven's Gate

Morning: Ride the world’s longest cable car to Tianmen Mountain. Step onto the Glass Skywalk for an exhilarating experience as you walk on the glass path with steep cliffs below.
Afternoon: Visit Heaven’s Gate, the natural arch at the top of the mountain. For a challenge, climb the 999 steps up to the arch.
Evening: Return to the hotel, rest, and enjoy a farewell dinner featuring Zhangjiajie-style hotpot.

Day 7: Return to Changsha & Departure

Morning: Travel back to Changsha (approx. 4-5 hours).
Afternoon: Depending on your flight time, visit Martyrs’ Park for some last-minute sightseeing or shopping.
Evening: Head to the airport for your departure.
